Running full circle!

We ran the Run for You Lives 5K this past weekend.  It's the 5K that started it all.  Way back over a year ago, I said... "If I'm ever going to run a 5K it would be running from zombies!"  We signed up and I decided if I was really going to do it, I better be able to run!  And a year later here I am, 20lbs lighter,  running everyday, 10 5K's this  year and pretty much addicted to it!  Who Knew!!

We arrived about 2 hours early and when we first walked in, we saw zombies on the course just wandering around and people, walking and we thought, "This is looks kinda lame, why is everyone walking?  This is going to be easy?" Aaahhh... little did we know!  It was on a Motor Cross Track, so there were hills, and woods, mud pits, houses and all sorts of stuff, not to mention the zombies, zombies, zombies!  When we first started there was about .3-.4 mile that was solid zombies, so we were running full tilt, bobbing and weaving and trying to avoid them.  I lost 2 of my flags (out of 4) right away.  It was crazy.  I thought I was going to pass out.  John and Zack definitely had an advantage having played flag football.  They had the dodging and spinning and avoiding down pat.  Brenna did a little better, and I just totally sucked!

The running part wasn't hard, it was the avoiding the zombies while navigating the treacherous footing and obstacles!  It was certainly fun, but I think I prefer my 5K's without the chasing.  Give me a straight up run or obstacle course and I'm happier.

Bottom line,  Brenna and I died, but John and Zack ended up surviving!  John actually made it through with 2 flags, Zack had one.  They were pretty proud of themselves.

The zombies were pretty creepy, but they didn't freak me out as much as I thought they would.  I think I would have been just as freaked if they'd been regular people, it was the chasing that freaked me out - not so much the makeup.

I LOVE MY JOB!

I've finished my first month as a working woman and I LOVE IT!  I love my little copy room, it's like my own little kingdom.  It's busy, busy, busy - but at the same time it's very Zen.  I know most people are probably laughing that I'm so happy being Copy Girl, but I don't care.  I think it speaks to my love of organization and control.  I run my own little room, I have my routine going and it just works for me.  Right now I'm able to stay caught up and ahead, so the teachers love me and are very appreciative.  I've only had one teacher be really nasty and mean to me, and the next day she brought me a chocolate peace offering so I guess I can't hold it against her.  Although I will just a little bit.  :o)

I got my first paycheck...$394.25.  Woot Woot!!  It really doesn't pay crap, but since some crap is better than no crap - I'm perfectly happy!!

My own little desk, with the computer that just serves as sculpture since they haven't given me a log in yet.

These are my machines.  They are like the Rolls Royces of copiers.  If you could marry copiers, I would marry these!

Just a fraction of the work I do in one day.  The first 2 weeks of school I was averaging about 25,000 copies A DAY!!!  Yes.. that's 25,000 A DAY!  It has slowed down a little bit now, but I would say that I still average at least 20,000.  It's crazy the number of copies they make at the school!

One of the big perks, Zack rides in with me in the morning and hangs out until the bell rings!  Win! Win!

Date Night, Paint Night

John and I did a Date Night this weekend.  I found a Groupon Coupon for Paint Night.  You go to a restaurant and have dinner and paint a picture.  They have an artist instructor come in and walk you through the painting.  It was a ton of fun.  What I found so interesting, is I went straight by the rules, but John did his own thing and totally strayed from the instructions and I LOVE his!  His is the angry, stormy, pointy picture and mine is all soft and flowey, but they are both cool.  Here's the night in pictures:

I thought it would be fun to hang the pictures up together in our room!  I love them both.  Date night, Paint Night was Fun Night!
